1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using BabySteps, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.
If you use BabySteps on behalf of a family or a child, you confirm that you have the right and authority to do so.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use BabySteps.
2. The BabySteps service
BabySteps is a private family space for recording and sharing memories, photos, videos, diary entries, private notes and practical care records related to pregnancy, babies and young children.
BabySteps is not a public social network. Access to content depends on family roles, invitations and permissions configured in the app.
BabySteps is not a medical, clinical or emergency service. Care records, reminders and notes are informational only and do not replace professional medical advice.
3. Accounts, invitations and family roles
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens through your account.
Family administrators decide which children, memories and content are added to a family space, who is invited, and what each invited person can access.
Invited family members must use the app respectfully and only for the private family purposes for which they were invited.
Do not share invitation codes, links, screenshots or private family content with people who are not authorized by the family administrator.
4. Children and family content
BabySteps may contain information about children because adult family administrators choose to create a private family space. Children do not need to create accounts to use BabySteps.
If you add information about a child, you confirm that you are a parent, guardian or otherwise authorized adult, or that you have permission from the responsible family administrator.
You must not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, exploitative, invasive of privacy, or that you do not have the right to share.
5. Your content and permissions
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, text, diary entries, notes and other content you add to BabySteps.
You grant BabySteps the limited permission needed to host, store, process, display, back up and transmit that content so the app can work for you and the family members you authorize.
Family administrators control family spaces and may decide what is visible to invited people. Invited people may have limited access and may lose access if an invitation or permission is changed.
6. Privacy and operational access
Use of BabySteps is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what data is collected, how it is used, how account deletion works, and the limits of operational access.
BabySteps is private between authorized family members inside the app, but it is not currently a zero-knowledge or fully end-to-end encrypted service.
The developer and trusted technical providers may have technical access to stored content only when strictly necessary to operate the service, provide support requested by you, investigate security issues, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations or maintain backups and reliability.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse BabySteps, attempt to bypass permissions, access another person’s account, interfere with the service, upload malicious content, or use BabySteps for illegal or harmful purposes.
You must respect the privacy of children and family members. Do not copy, publish or redistribute private family content outside BabySteps unless you have the appropriate permission from the family administrator and any other required rights.
We may restrict or suspend access if we reasonably believe an account or use of the service creates a security, privacy, legal or safety risk.
8. Availability and changes
BabySteps is under active development. Features may change, improve, pause or be removed as the product evolves.
We aim to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
We may update these Terms when the product, legal requirements or operational needs change. When a new version is required, the app may ask you to review and accept it before continuing.
9. Account deletion and ending use
You can delete your account from the app under Settings → Privacy and session → Delete my account. The Privacy Policy explains how deletion affects family spaces, content and invited people depending on your role.
You may stop using BabySteps at any time. Some technical logs or backups may remain for a limited time where needed for security, reliability or legal obligations.
10. Responsibility and limits
BabySteps is provided for private family organization and memories. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties beyond those required by law.
We are not responsible for decisions made based on family records, missed reminders, or content shared by users outside the permissions intended by the app.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited under applicable consumer or data protection law.
